Director of Public Works

The Village of Round Lake, Illinois (population 18,289), seeks experienced candidates for the Director of Public Works to manage and supervise the engineering and public works functions for the Village as well as oversee the management,

operation, maintenance, and capital improvement program for the public infrastructure consisting of the water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, streets, sidewalks and other related Village infrastructure.

The Director of Public Works is a senior management level position that is appointed by the Mayor and reports to the Village Administrator. The successful candidate shall have high integrity and a demonstrated track record in effective

customer service, team building within the department and with other departments, and experience with succession planning and collective bargaining.

Requirements for the position include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates will be expected to have 5-10 years increasingly responsible experience in executive level public works in the public sector

or in a field closely related to the public sector. A Professional Engineering license is a plus. Additional information about the position is available upon request.

Part-Time Administrative Support Assistant – Village of Round Lake

The Village of Round Lake, Illinois (population 18,289) seeks a part-time Administrative Support Assistant to join the Finance Department.  This position’s primary function will be responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and

bi-monthly accounts payable cycles.  Additionally, this position will serve as a backup to other department staff members, as needed, by assisting residents, answer phone calls, and with other projects as assigned.  Work is performed

under the supervision of the Accounting Manager.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is focused on providing exceptional service in a relaxed and enjoyable work environment.

The successful candidate would possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a valid Illinois driver’s license.  Experience in accounting and/or finance (preferably in a local government setting) is ideal.

Starting hourly rate $19.00 +/- DOQ.  Average hours are 15-20 hours per week.
