Water / Utility Billing

Establishing Service/Cancelling Service

Moving in or out? Contact the Village Hall at 847-546-5400 to provide your information.

Attention Landlords:

Please visit the Village Hall when setting up a new service and provide your mailing address, phone number and your tenant's information.  It is your responsibility to pay the utility bill if your tenant neglects to pay, so in the event that your tenant moves out, a final bill must be prepared and if we have the tenant's forwarding information, we can forward the bill to them.

The Utility Bill is a combined bill including water, sewer, garbage and recycling. The Village contracts with Waste Management for the garbage and recycling services. Since the Utility Bill is a combined billing, ordering new or replacement garbage or recycling containers must be done through the Village.

Residents only need to contact Waste Management directly in order to set up yard waste pick-up, the pick-up of large items, or to complain about the driver or service. For more information please see the "Garbage Pickup/Other Waste" section.

Water rates paid by the Village are in response to fees the Village pays to purchase water from the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA). The water rates we pay help to ensure that we continue to maintain the existing water infrastructure so as to provide excellent water and sewer services to our residents. If you have any questions regarding the Village's water rate, please contact the Round Lake Village Hall.

CLCJAWA was formed to centralize the providing of water for area communities. A copy of their meeting schedule can be downloaded here. Please contact the Village with any questions regarding the Agency.

Water Bill Payment Information

Water bills for the Village of Round Lake are sent to residents the first week of each month. Payment is due by the 20th of the month. If payment is not made by that time, a late fee of 10% is assessed. If mailed, please allow seven to ten working days for posting to account.

If payment is not made by the 20th, a pink delinquent notice, which is also known as the 2nd notice, is sent to residents indicating a hearing date on the third Monday of the month. Delinquent bills may be paid before the hearing date or at the hearing which is from 6:30-7:00 p.m., before the Regular Board Meeting. After this meeting time, an additional $15.00 hearing charge is added.

Seven days after this meeting, if the Village has not been contacted, a yellow shut-off notice showing the full amount owed, including fines, is posted on the resident's door.

Three days after this posting, the water will be turned off. To turn the water on again the resident must make arrangements to pay the water bill in full.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A CHARGE ASSESSED TO TURN THE WATER OFF AND TO TURN IT ON.

Direct Debit Program Never worry about forgetting to pay your water bill again!

The Village is now offering automatic withdrawal (direct debit) for paying your water bills! Click here to download the printable brochure to sign up. Once you complete the application, mail to: Direct Debit, 442 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL 60073, or bring in to the Village Hall.

PAYING THROUGH AN INTERNET PAY SERVICE OR BANK? Please note that if you are paying through an internet pay service or bank, please have your bank send the payment to the Village Hall address (442 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL 60073) since your bill stub will not be included with that transaction and in order to expedite the processing of your payment. Our processing branch in Wisconsin cannot process payments without the bill stub (the part that you tear off your bill and send in with the payment).
