Village Clerk Jeanne Kristan is a lifelong resident of the Village of Round Lake. Jeanne has a college degree in psychology with education as a minor. She was appointed Village Clerk in 1999 by former Mayor Jim Lumber and was elected to her current position in both 2001 and 2005.Before becoming the Village Clerk, she devoted nineteen years to teaching at the elementary and junior high levels in the Round Lake Area. Jeanne is acutely aware of the importance of meeting the needs of our residents and staff and of maintaining the Village documents. To this end, she has studied for, and recently attained, the degrees of Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC), given by the state of Illinois Municipal Clerks, and Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), given by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
She has been married to Bob for 37 years, and they own and operate both Kristan Electric and the Sayton Road Car Wash in Fox Lake. They have three daughters and five grandchildren, most of who also live in Round Lake.
As a lifetime resident, Jeanne is very pleased with the current direction of our Village. “This is a very exciting time in the history of Round Lake, and I am very proud to be a part of it!”
