The Village of Round Lake is situated about 50 miles from Chicago, conveniently situated along Metra's Milwaukee District North Line. Round Lake is approximately a 50-70 minute drive (traffic depending!) from O'Hare International Airport and is accessible from I-94 West (primarily northbound) by exiting at Route 120 (Belvidere Road) and Route 132 (Grand Avenue) as you travel on I-94 East (primarily southbound). We're about 30-90 minutes from the following entertainment venues:

  • Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox)
  • Allstate Arena (Chicago Wolves Hockey)
  • United Center (Chicago Bulls)
  • Six Flags Amusement Park
  • Lamb's Farm
  • Lake County Fairgrounds
  • Gurnee Mills Shopping Mall

Transportation

The Pace Bus Route 570 serves Round Lake commuters and the bus stop is located at Cedar Lake Road and Washington Road.  This Bus Route also connects to bus routes 565, 572, and 806.  For more information on Pace visit www.pacebus.com. 

The MILWAUKEE DISTRICT/NORTH LINE (FOX LAKE TO CHICAGO) serves Round Lake commuters and the Metra station is located at the intersection of Route 134 and Cedar Lake Road.   The Metra Agent hours are M-F 5:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Metra owns the station, lots and building.  The Village maintains the lots for Metra. Parking is available daily on a first-come, first-serve basis for a fee of $1.50 a day. Payment can be made by dollar bills and coins at each lot's collection box or by purchasing a Quarterly Pass at the Village Hall, 442 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL. Quarterly Passes are $90 at the start of the quarter and thereafter the cost is prorated.  The Village Hall accepts cash or check only.

METRA Permit Parking Only Lot

There is one designated parking lot for pass holders, that lot is located on Goodnow Blvd (off Route 134) and is known as the Goodnow Lot.  Please note that there are only 46 parking spots at this lot, so if filled to capacity, pass holders can still park at the other lots.
