Village Increases Water and Sewer Rates
Posted on Wednesday January 09, 2019
On December 17, 2018, the Village of Round Lake approved Ordinance 18-O-37 which increases water and sewer utility rates over a multi-year period. The rate adjustment was the result of a Comprehensive Water and Sewer Rate and Fee Study, completed in November 2018 by RHMG Engineers, Inc.

The rate and fee study evaluated capital infrastructure and equipment replacement needs as identified in the Village’s Capital Plan as well as consideration of routine maintenance and repair costs.  The study concluded with recommended alternatives for a fee structure that would collect sufficient revenues for the operation, maintenance, replacement, and improvement of the Village’s water and sewer systems.  To view the Water and Sewer Rate Study in its entirety click here.  To view the Power Point presentation presented to the Board at December 3rd’s Committee of the Whole meeting click here.  The Village Board chose the fee structure recommended in “Alternative B” in the study.  The rate increase, summarized in the Table below, will be implemented on the March utility bills that bill for late January to mid-February consumption.
